There are 3 different types of rates attorneys charge
1. Flat Fees- this is an agreed upon amount that the client pays the firm to handle the whole, or portion of, your legal case. This money stays in a client trust account until it is earned. *Most Common in Criminal Matters*
2. Hourly rate - this is an agreed upon hourly rate that gets debited from an up front retainer fee as it is earned. *Most Common type of fee*
3. Contingency fee - The attorney, or in some cases the client, covers all of the costs of litigation while the attorney's time is free. In exchange the attorney can take up to 50% of what is recovered in the case. *most common in personal injury cases*
The type of fee you can expect to pay is based on the type of case you have and the facts. Our consults are always FREE and will go over these options with you.
